On the territory of the Rostov region, a real agricultural tragedy erupted.
The fact is that large-scale fires went through the agricultural lands of the region at the end of last week and destroyed over two hundred and twenty hectares planted with various crops.
Experts assess the situation in the Don expanses as "increased fire hazard." And here it is important to note that the cause of fires in the agro-industrial territories of the region last week was not the hot weather at all, as is usually the case in the summer season, but the malfunction of agricultural special equipment and careless handling of fire.
In particular, on the territory of the Salsky district, a fire occurred as a result of a cigarette recklessly thrown into a smoldering cigarette butt. As a result, the “goby” provoked a fire of cereals and exterminated over ten hectares of wheat.
At about the same time, in another district of the Rostov Region - Proletarsky - a fire arose due to problems with the operation of agricultural machinery. The flames resulting from equipment malfunction, incinerated at least fifty-five hectares of wheat fields.
It is important to add that the regime of increased fire hazard has been operating in the Rostov region since April 29 of this year and extended approximately to October 15, 2019. During this period, it is strictly forbidden to burn bonfires in the region, burn domestic and other wastes, and play with fire nearby dry grass and other plant crops.
