“Sunflower, to be honest, is not our main crop and we will gradually abandon it, but for now we grow it quite successfully, we get good crops for the south and we spend Field days,” the agronomist said.

Recently, here, as throughout Ukraine, the climate has been actively changing, so farmers in the economy are trying in every way to keep the yield and even increase it.

“We are constantly experimenting. This year we will try to make “winter” out of ordinary sunflower. This means that we will sow 2 hectares. closer to winter, when the average temperature does not exceed 5 ° C.

In winter, the seeds will lie in the soil, and in spring, thanks to this, our hands will be untied, more time. And the spring culture will receive moisture, ”said Sergey Shipov.

It is noteworthy that the tendency to expand the cultivated area under sunflower in the Kherson region has been observed for several decades.
