The states that are part of the European Union have so far managed to import over one million nine hundred thousand tons of grain from the beginning of this year.
It is noteworthy that this indicator is sixty-six percent higher than the volume of external purchases for the same period last year, 2018. The pace of grain imports in the EU is growing literally every week. For example, seventy-three percent more grain was purchased this week than last week.
As for exports, here the European Union boasts a figure of one million two hundred sixty thousand tons from the beginning of 2019. For clarity, it should be added that the volume of shipments of European grain to the foreign market a year earlier was twenty-seven percent less than the current figures.
If we compare the shipments of this week with the indicators of the previous week, then they practically do not differ (minus one percent of the current figures).
It is also important to add that since the beginning of this year, EU countries have exported seven hundred sixty one thousand six hundred tons of soft wheat. A year earlier, similar sales were twenty-two percent lower.
As for the import of soft wheat, in this case it is advisable to talk about eighty-six thousand tons from the beginning of this year, which is forty percent less than the indicators a year ago.
