In 2019, Ukrainian exporters are preparing to bring organic blueberries to the world market, said the director of the Organic Standard certification body Sergey Galashevsky, which he made at the International Congress of Organic Ukraine 2019 on March 14 this year in Odessa.

If we judge the volumes of organic berries growing in Ukraine, then raspberries will come first. The second place in terms of cultivation is occupied by blueberries, the area under which is constantly growing. In third place in terms of production is garden strawberries. Less popular on organic farms are honeysuckle, gooseberries and currants.

Ukraine has not yet exported fresh organic blueberries. But this year, manufacturers intend to address the issue seriously. Currently, large batches of berries are being prepared for supermarket chains in foreign countries.

The market for organic products in Ukraine is constantly replenished with a significant amount of pumpkin grown. Basically, this crop is cultivated to produce seeds. Pumpkin seeds are a pleasure to buy from other countries, such as Austria. Organic watermelon is also exported, but in small volumes, says Sergey Galashevsky.
