Vladimir-Volyn poultry farm registered a petition on the ban on the use of antibiotics in agriculture on the website of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine.
The petition was initiated by Alexey Kovalenko, the managing shareholder of Epicurus, a chicken brand grown without antibiotics and stimulating growth at the Vladimir-Volyn poultry farm.
The text of the submitted petition says that the use of antibiotics in poultry, livestock, fish farming, crop production and the dairy industry leads to the fact that a person becomes resistant to them. That is, with diseases and antibiotic treatment, the latter may not give a therapeutic effect.
Representatives of the enterprise in messages on social networks noted that such a step for them is the result of long work with representatives of various ministries and departments. They added that the abandonment of antibiotics is a worldwide trend, which is gaining more momentum annually.
According to forecasts of the World Health Organization, by 2050 the annual mortality due to antibiotic resistance in the Asian region will be 4.73 million people, Africa - 4.15 million people, Europe - 390 thousand people, South America - 392 thousand people. people, North America - 312 thousand people.
