As scientists at the Institute of Agricultural Economics predict, gross agricultural products this year will be UAH 258.6 billion (at constant 2010 prices), which is 3.7% less than the data for the previous year.
According to the academician of the NAAS, Yuri Lupenko, the gross crop production in 2019 will drop to the level of 188.2 billion UAH.
A slight decline in the production of grain and leguminous crops is expected at the level of 68.4 million tons compared to last year's 70.0 million tons, that is 2.3% less than last year.
It is predicted that the output of greenhouse vegetables, rapeseed, wheat and barley will be increased. According to scientists, in livestock production the gross output will increase by 0.8% when compared with 2018. It will stop at around 70.5 billion UAH.
Volumes of milk, meat and wool production will decrease by 1.2-4.7%. The production of poultry meat will increase by 7.4%, and eggs - by 3.4%. Experts predict that in 2019, agricultural production will become stable.
This trend has been achieved in past years. A slight decrease in production is explained by the high comparative base of the record year 2018, when the gross grain harvest in Ukraine exceeded 70 million tons.
