Recently, Ukraine is increasingly involved in the export of tomato paste. Most often, this Ukrainian product enters the markets of the European Union, according to analysts.

The most active importer of tomato paste of Ukrainian producers was Poland, which increased its purchase by 7 times.

The Polish side acquired 27 thousand tons of tomato paste from Ukraine in 2018, which is 7% higher than the previous year and 6.7% more than in 2014, the State Statistics Service reports. Recall that in 2014 Ukraine exported only 4 thousand tons of product.

In the ranking of the largest exporters of tomato paste from Ukraine, Poland is in 4th place, and for 4 consecutive years. Industry experts explain this for a number of reasons. After the outbreak of Russian aggression, the Russian market for Ukrainian manufacturers closed.

But back in 2014, this country held a leading position among exporters of Ukrainian tomato paste. As a result, Ukraine was forced to look for other markets for its products, and found it in the person of the EU countries. Since 2016, a duty-free sales regime has been established between Ukraine and the European Union, which has become a good help in further increasing exports.
