According to the data of daily price monitoring by EastFruit analysts, this week not only cabbage, but also carrots fell significantly in Russia. This was due to an increase in the supply of medium and early varieties of carrots from farms.

The fall in prices over the past week has led to the fact that the product is already sold at a price of 8-15 rubles / kg., Which is equivalent to 0.12-0.23 dollars / kg. As a result, carrots in Russian households became cheaper by 11%.

According to industry experts, this situation has arisen in connection with a sharp increase in the supply of this product in the markets. Local agricultural producers began a massive harvesting campaign, which could not but affect the increase in supply. It puts pressure on prices and very modest consumer demand.

It is noteworthy that the current level of carrot prices in Russia was 13% lower than for the same period in 2018. Farmers do not expect the situation to improve, since carrots are in abundance in the market and there is little demand for it.
