The current year went down in the history of the agro-industrial complex of the Saratov region as the period when the first batch of sunflower meal was sent to the Italian market.

Such information was shared by employees of the Main Regional Directorate of Rosselkhoznadzor. Also, department officials noted that the volume of shipment of meal to the Italian market amounted to more than five and a half thousand tons.

It is also important to add that in the first six months of this year, this region exported at least three hundred and fifty two and a half thousand tons of cereals and oilseeds.

In particular, retailers from Azerbaijan became their purchasers of Saratov grain and oil processing products (they accounted for more than one hundred eighteen thousand tons of goods from January to June 2019), as well as wholesalers from Latvia (with a purchase figure of sixty eight thousand tons from the beginning years), Iranian (thirty three thousand tons) and Turkish (eleven thousand tons for the specified period) customers.

It is noteworthy that Latvia purchases both sunflower meal and other oilseed products from flax and safflower from Saratov agricultural producers.

Latvian colleagues are also exemplified by buyers from the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Germany, Belgium and Poland, who also highly value and buy bulk Saratov flax, safflower and sunflower.
