Long-standing partners in the agricultural sector - Ukraine and China - are planning to expand the scope of cooperation in the near future. Both sides are aimed at increasing the volume of trade in cereals, flour, grain and sunflower oil.

According to the staff of the Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, both sides signed a memorandum on a fruitful strategic partnership. Representatives of the states met at the China International Import Expo 2018, which was recently held in the Chinese city of Shanghai.

Ukraine was represented by the State Food and Grain Corporation. On the part of China, the memorandum was signed by CCEC employees.

“We hope that our purchasers and consumers will like our oils, flour, groceries and compound feeds so much that sales volumes on the Chinese market will only grow! - Ukrainian traders are optimistic about the future. And they add that only in 2018 Ukraine exported to the PRC at least a million tons of grain. “This is twice as much as we exported to China a year earlier.”

It will not be superfluous to note that through Chinese intermediaries Ukrainian goods enter the Asian and European markets, providing third-country countries with high-quality grain and groceries.

The profit from sales to the Chinese market cannot but rejoice - for nine months of export, Ukrainian suppliers managed to gain 102 million hryvnias.
