Two farmers from the Horni region of Milanovac (Serbia) protect their fields from wild pigs with loud music. Corn fields are “protected” by radio at night.
Many local residents in the villages above Gorni-Milanovac refused to sow corn because they were unable to protect it from the ever-growing number of wild boars.
But Slobodan Evtovich (51 years old) and Milovan Dzhurdzhevich (55 years old) from Kriva Reka found a way to protect their plantations. Two resourceful farmers protect the corn fields from a herd of pests in an unusual way - folk music from radio sets playing on their fields all night!
Since pigs and other harmful animals attack crops only at night and at dawn, Slobodan and Milovan found an original way to protect them.
Each of them, in their own field (and they are about a mile and a half away from each other - one near Milichevich, the other in the village of Dzhele) installed the old radio and speakers and protected them from rain.
They have been using unusual but useful inventions since last spring. While most people throw out obsolete but still working radios, these people have used them for business.
The radios are connected to the batteries. They are turned on in the evening, and turned off in the morning. Music plays on the field all night, and the crops remain intact. The success of inventive farmers has captivated their fellow villagers who want to follow suit.
