The USDA has announced that it will invest up to $ 12.5 million to support the adoption of innovative approaches to conserving agricultural land.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) accepts proposals for national conservation grants (CIG) through July 30, 2019.
CIG projects inspire creative solutions to increase production on farms, ranches and private forests. Ultimately, they improve water quality, soil health, and wildlife habitats.
All non-federal legal entities and individuals in the United States are eligible to apply.
“Conservation innovation grants allow partners to jointly invest in NRCS a new generation of conservation solutions in agriculture.
Innovation grants in the field of nature conservation will help stimulate the creation of new tools and technologies to conserve natural resources, increase the sustainability of their operations and improve results, and we are pleased to see these proposals being offered, ”said the head of the Department of Natural Resources’s Department of Agriculture Matthew Lore.
