In the village of Nosikovka, Shargorod district, Vinnitsa region, a western corn beetle was discovered. Therefore, in the village introduced a picture mode.

This was reported by the department of agro-industrial development of the Shargorod district state administration.

“When conducting control examinations of corn crops located on leased land in the village of Nosikovka, a regulated pest was discovered in field No. 01 0110 - the western corn bug (Diabrotica virgifera virgifera Le Conte), on a total area of ​​39.98 hectares.

Due to the extreme harmfulness, the ability to spread rapidly, there is a need to introduce a quarantine regime for the western corn bug in this territory, ”noted there.

Note that in 2005 in Ukraine, quarantine specialists using traps with pheromones caught 22,140 males and 297 females imagoes in household plots, on farm fields and in settlements of 13 districts of Transcarpathia. Foci of a western corn beetle were discovered in 3 new mountain regions of the Transcarpathian region.

Earlier it was reported that quarantine for the western corn bug was announced in 5 regions of Ukraine: Cherkasy, Zhytomyr, Kirovograd, Rivne and Odessa.
