Within the framework of the large-scale exposition “All-Russian Field Day” this year, representatives of the Rostselmash company presented their pride to a wide audience.
We are talking about an unmanned agricultural combine harvester 785 series, which is called "TORUM".
It is noteworthy that this machine is the first product of an unmanned category created for the collection of grain crops in the fields.
It is important to note that at the moment, the TORUM 785 series cannot yet be called completely unmanned. The presence of the operator is required at the current stage of operation of the combine, at least in order to control the speed of the machine and control the technological processes.
But, as the developers from Rostselmash assure, in the very near future the equipment will be brought to perfection. And then the combine operator will carry out remote control of the equipment, staying at an impressive distance from the machine.
Such information was shared by Valery Maltsev, the head of the Rostselmash enterprise. He also added that the production capacity of TORUM-785 exceeds forty-five tons hourly.
In addition, in each harvesting season, this unit is able to harvest from fields whose total area exceeds two thousand hectares. For one shift of eight hours, the unmanned TORUM 785 series will be able to thresh at least three hundred and sixty tons, the developers conclude.
