The cost of honey exports in the first five months of this year amounted to 40.7 million dollars. (+ 20%). The top three largest importers of domestic honey for the first five months of this year, as well as for the same period in 2018, included Germany (24.8%), Belgium (20.1%), Poland (13.6%).

The import of honey in January-May of the current year equaled the figure for the entire last year and amounted to 21 tons. However, the cost of imports fell by 27%. It is equal to 46 thousand dollars. since the beginning of 2019 against 63 thousand dollars. for the whole last year.

It was previously reported that due to the mass death of bees in 2018, export deliveries of honey from Ukraine decreased by 1/4. Ukraine has left the top three world exporters of honey.

This year, the situation with poisoning of bees and their subsequent death is no better, which leaves the country a chance to once again be among the leading producers of sweet products.

In 2019, Ukraine increased its sales of honey in the United States. In January-February 2019, the United States purchased Ukrainian 1.96 million USD of Ukrainian honey. which is twice as much as in the same period of 2018.
