Despite the tightening of control over the transportation of pork and animals, the massive killing of wild boars and the zoning of production regions, African swine fever continues to spread actively throughout Poland. In this regard, the country's authorities are resorting to new measures to overcome the dangerous virus.
Wild pigs are blamed for spreading the disease throughout the country. With this in mind, Poland wants to prevent the migration of wild boars, which contribute to the spread of African swine fever.
To do this, along the banks of the Nogat River began to scatter aromatic preparations to scare away animals. It is also planned to invest 32.5 thousand US dollars for the installation of electric fences.
The largest case of African swine fever in Poland was recorded in July this year. Then, on the farm, where an outbreak was recorded, 9 thousand pigs had to be disposed of. In September, the so-called ASF spread hazard zone in Poland was officially expanded.
During the current year, 1749 outbreaks of African swine fever were discovered in the country, 45 of which were recorded at industrial enterprises and households. In other cases, death from the virus overtook wild boars.
