This year, which is nearing completion, was marked for Russian farmers with excellent volumes of harvest.
In particular, farmers managed to collect more than 116.5 million tons of grain, about 13 million tons of sunflower seeds and more than forty million tons of sugar beets. This is reported by Rosstatistiki staff.
According to them, the joint efforts of farmers from different parts of Russia managed to get a generous potato crop - about 23 million tons. As for the remaining vegetables, such as cucumbers, tomatoes and others, their harvest volume this year exceeded 13 million tons.
However, these figures can only please those who are far from the world of agriculture. Since the results of last year's yield were significantly higher than the current ones. So, in 2017, farmers harvested almost 17% more grain than at the end of the current season. Sugar beet volumes were also higher last year - almost 21 percent. But the harvest of sunflower seeds this year exceeded last year's figures (by 20%), as well as the results of the harvest of potatoes (almost 4%) and vegetables (1%).
“The overall result of last year’s grain yield is more than 135 million tons. Almost 70% of this volume was taken by the wheat crop, - added in the Federal Statistics Service. - If we recall the results of the 2016 harvest, then even the volumes of grain collected exceeded the harvest of 2018 and amounted to more than 120 million tons.
