The JC Evergreen company has completed the registration procedure for the Yotsuboshi strawberry variety from Japan, which will now be grown in Khabarovsk, as stated in the message of the PR service of the Far East Development Corporation.
Not so long ago, varietal tests of Japanese strawberries ended. Berries comply with all regulations, said the executive director of JC Evergreen LLC Roman Matvienko.
According to the company’s employees, it is planned to erect strawberry production facilities during the construction of phase III of the greenhouse complex of JC Evergreen LLC.
According to the company, the beds with berries will be placed in greenhouses with an area of about 5 hectares. Local residents will be able to taste Japanese strawberries as early as next year, although its mass collection is planned only for 2022.
The decision to cultivate a new product was made by the resident about a year ago. To carry out all registration procedures, several test crops were grown on Russian lands. For these purposes, in 2018, a new greenhouse was built at the company's site.
