Domestic tomatoes on the Russian shelves are getting more and more expensive every day. To date, their cost has reached prices for imported tomatoes that come to Russia from distant countries.

“The reasons for such a rise in price should be sought in the current situation with import substitution,” the experts are sure. “However, one should not despair.” Because the state is investing a lot of money in the industry, and positive dynamics are forecasted in the very near future. ”

Analysts say that more and more new enterprises for the production of domestic tomatoes and other vegetables enter the market, which leads to an increase in the number of tomatoes throughout the country.

Only this year, Russian farmers harvested about one and a half million tons of greenhouse vegetables from the fields. Analysts, processing this information, came to the conclusion that in six years one should expect a greenhouse crop of two million tons per year.

“Today we cover the demand of Russians for greenhouse vegetables by 57%,” Russian farmers say. - For some, this figure may not seem particularly impressive, but even three years ago, the figure was at the level of 40%. So the dynamics are present, and this cannot but rejoice! ”
