On row crops of the Nikolaev area the centers of distribution of caterpillars of butterflies of a thistle (burdock) were found. Their active flight continues, the Department of Agro-Industrial Development of the Nikolaev Regional State Administration reports on its page on the social network Facebook.
When identifying foci of propagation of burdock caterpillars, crops should be treated with insecticides recommended for crops using certain technologies. If the caterpillars are found on a personal plot, then it is recommended to collect them manually.
Careful care of the crops is needed, in particular, weed control in the fields, gardens and surrounding areas, including the thistle beloved thistles, the report said.
To protect crops, it is recommended to constantly monitor their condition and, if necessary, carry out protective measures. When carrying out protective treatments, pesticides are used according to the document “List of pesticides and agrochemicals approved for use in Ukraine”, in compliance with the regulations for their use.
During protective measures it is necessary to observe safety regulations and be guided by the State Sanitary Rules of GSP 8.8.1.2.001-98 “Transportation, Storage and Use of Pesticides in the National Economy”.
